Authorities have carried out raids on several establishments in Chon Buri province, including poolside villas, as part of their ongoing investigation into suspected ties between illegal Chinese businesses and the provision of lodging for Chinese tourists.
On Monday, the Central Investigation Bureau announced that officers from the Economic Crime Suppression Division conducted searches at five locations on Sunday, including villas housing Chinese tourists, during Operation Dragon Slayer.
The CIB reports that the raids are part of an ongoing investigation into allegations that illegal Chinese enterprises, like call-scam operations, are using their profits to invest in lodging rented to Chinese tourists.

The identified buyers were companies that provided organized tour packages and related services. Their Chinese clients made payments using cash, foreign currencies, and digital currencies.
Authorities reported that the villas searched were valued at over 20 million baht. The CIB announcement did not disclose their names.
Investigators identified proxy owners associated with more than 40 companies that act as fronts for Chinese owners.
