A Russian national was crushed to death after falling from the eighth floor of a condominium in Pattaya under unclear circumstances.
The body of a 42-year-old Russian man who died after falling from the eighth floor of a condominium on Jomtien in Pattaya on January 6 has been found. A freak accident is believed to be the cause of the tragedy, reports the publication Siamrat.
At 2 a.m., Pattaya police officers and Savang Boriboon Foundation rescue workers received a report of a man falling from a height. When police arrived on the scene, they found the body of a man dressed in a white T-shirt and jeans lying in the grass behind the condominium.
The deceased man turned out to be a 42-year-old Russian citizen named Artem Pakmomo, who lived in the condominium.
According to police, an hour earlier, Artem had caused a commotion at the condominium’s front door, which attracted building security. As the security officer headed towards the troublemaker, the man attempted to climb the wall and run away.
The security guard managed to catch the man and found that Artem was a condominium resident. The security guard then escorted the Russian back to room 818 of Building C.
However, a loud noise was soon heard from the back of the building. The noise was initially mistaken for an electric shock, but it was later realised that the sound was the result of a man falling to his death after hitting the ground.
Police said there were no signs of violence or resistance on the body of the dead Russian, as well as abrasions, haematomas and internal injuries. The man likely died as a result of an accident.
However, police are still investigating and trying to find out the motives behind Artem’s strange behaviour and the cause of the fall. The police have also contacted the Russian embassy and are trying to get more information about the victim’s background and mental state.
