A Thai woman was apprehended for taking a bag belonging to a Russian tourist, which was left outside a convenience store in Naklua.
On January 23rd, police in Banglamung apprehended 33-year-old Ms. Nisa on suspicion of stealing a bag from a male Russian tourist.
The incident began on January 8, 2025, when Mr. Xavier, a 37-year-old tourist from Russia, reported to Banglamung police the loss of his black shoulder bag. The bag contained over 120,000 baht in cash, a mobile phone, and important documents, and it went missing in front of a convenience store on Soi 6 in Naklua.
Police examined CCTV footage and discovered that the victim was drinking with a friend at an outdoor table near the store before returning to his accommodation. Unfortunately, he inadvertently left his bag on a chair.

The suspect, seated nearby with her daughter, subsequently approached the victim’s table. After feigning an effort to tidy up the area, she allegedly took the bag, secured it in a plastic bag, and left with her daughter in a public transport vehicle back home to Samut Prakan. Later, she used the stolen money for a family trip and to cover car payments.
Police successfully located Ms. Nisa and took her into custody. She faces charges of “theft at night” and has been transferred to Banglamung investigators for further legal action.
