Police raided a condominium in Samut Prakan province following a violent clash between Cambodian and Myanmar workers. Police are still on the scene.
Pol. Maj. Gen. A team of over 50 officers, headed by Wichit Boonchinwutikul, Chief of Samut Prakan Provincial Police, raided the Bang Pu condo. The raid led to the apprehension of 50 illegal migrant workers.
An event that occurred on June 24 night, involving over 20 individuals, led to the decision for the operation. Ricing: Cambodian workers carry guns and knives as they attack a group of Myanmar teenagers. One Myanmar resident sustained severe injuries in the attack.
In the raid, police officers searched every room of the condo building, from the first to a fifth-floor one.”. The investigation uncovered the existence of roughly 50 undocumented migrant workers in Thailand. They were apprehended and will be subject to legal proceedings before their deportation.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Wichit stated that the police had received numerous reports of fights between employees of both nationalities, disturbing other locals.
The police have detained two Cambodian individuals linked to the assault and are presently searching for the remaining members of the group, who are thought to be still present.
