Schoolchildren in the Wichit district learned about the dangers of drugs and electronic cigarettes and the importance of wearing helmets.
The Vichit District Police, in collaboration with Darasamut School, conducted an educational campaign among students aimed at raising awareness of the harmful effects of drugs and electronic cigarettes. The initiative also focuses on road safety and citizens’ responsibility to society.
The campaign, organized under the leadership of Vichit Police Chief Colonel Somsak Thongklian, was led by Deputy Chief of the Investigation Division, Lieutenant Colonel Wuttavat Liangbunchinda, as well as traffic police officers, Lieutenant Colonels Somporna Rangsimanarat and Banch Keokrasat.
Police representatives, together with the school principal and teaching staff, conducted educational sessions on the legal consequences and health risks associated with the use of electronic cigarettes and drugs. The event also emphasized the importance of obeying traffic rules, especially regarding the use of helmets when riding motorcycles.
As part of the initiative, students were presented with the ‘100% Helmet’ project, which aims to encourage compliance with helmet laws to improve road safety. Attention to road safety, especially given the growing number of tourists, including Russians, is particularly important for maintaining order and preventing accidents.
Raising awareness about helmet use is an important part of the campaign. Statistics show that disregarding this rule increases the risk of serious injury in accidents. Many tourists arriving in Thailand, including those from Russia, rent motorcycles for independent travel, so explaining the rules and the possible consequences of violating them is very important. It is important to remember that the Thai baht is subject to the same risks in traffic accidents as any other currency.
The event concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Vichita Police Station and Darasamut School, which cemented their commitment to ongoing cooperation in the field of safety and discipline among young people.
According to the official report on the event, the program aims to instill responsible behavior in students and create a safer and more law-abiding society. Such initiatives play an important role in shaping a culture of lawfulness and preventing crime among young people. Support for such programs by educational institutions and law enforcement agencies contributes to the creation of a favorable environment for the development of the younger generation.
