In Pattaya, locals complained about a strange foreigner riding a powerful motorbike with a loud exhaust sound around a hotel car park at night.
Residents of Thailand’s Chonburi province have complained about a foreigner who rides a high-powered motorbike with a loud exhaust sound around the car park of the Flowerland Hotel at Siam Country Club in Pattaya for 2-3 hours every night.
The loud exhaust sound from the motorbike, coming from the hotel’s car park at night, has been disturbing those living in the neighbourhood for about a week, outraged residents told a Khaosod reporter.
The publication’s reporter went to the said location to witness the gross public order violation and video of the foreigner producing an unacceptable sound level due to a faulty or modified motorbike exhaust system.
After ascertaining that the foreigner was indeed disturbing the neighbourhood residents with the loud exhaust sound, the publication’s reporter contacted the police station. Upon receiving the information about the disturbance, police officers immediately went to verify the report.
The lighting in the Flowerland Hotel car park is quite dim. But the police officers were able to make out a foreigner on a large black motorbike driving around in a senseless circle. The officers stopped the man and asked him to accompany them to the police station.
The foreigner turned out to be a 32-year-old Russian named Vadim, who admitted that he often came to ride the powerful motorbike at night due to safety concerns. The man decided that the hotel car park at night was a safe enough place and didn’t realise people were living nearby.
“I feel guilty and apologise to everyone I disturbed,” the Russian stated.
Police officers then warned the Russian that they would prosecute him for disorderly conduct if he continued such behaviour.
