In Thailand, a parental dispute while driving caused a family with two children to be involved in a road accident, killing the parents and leaving the children orphans
A tragic car accident took place in Chonburi province on Sunday evening, killing a couple and leaving their children orphaned. According to the Bangkok Post, the accident was caused by an argument between the couple while the car was in motion.
According to police, a white sedan carrying a family of four crashed into an electricity pole. As a result of the collision, 41-year-old spouses Siraphop and Natchareya (names changed) died on the spot. Their children, who were in the back seat, were injured and taken to hospital.
Witnesses said the sedan had hit a pick-up truck parked nearby before the accident, damaging its rear end. The children told rescuers that their parents were arguing loudly just before the accident. According to eyewitnesses, the father was behind the wheel when the mother suddenly jerked the handbrake, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
Police are still investigating the circumstances of the accident. The fate of the orphaned children has not yet been announced. Still, in such cases, the local guardianship authorities usually make arrangements for their temporary placement while permanent custody is being decided.
Traffic police officers are reminded that any emotional conflicts should only be resolved after the vehicle is stopped in a safe place.
This tragedy serves as a sad reminder of how important it is to maintain self-control behind the wheel and always remember to take responsibility for your own life and the lives of passengers and other road users.
